The Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen (Arabic: المملكة المتوكلية اليمنية al-Mamlakah al-Mutawakkilīyah al-Yamanīyah), also known simply as the Kingdom of Yemen was a state that existed between 1918 and 1962. During North Yemen’s time as a monarchy, a Royal Salute was used as the national anthem, much like other Arab monarchies of the time. Words were written for the anthem, but were rarely used.
