Chuán shuō, 传说， As legend said, zài hěn jiǔ hěn jiǔ yǐ qián, 在很久很久以前， long long ago, tiān shang yǒu ge měi lì de xiān nǚ, 天上有个美丽的仙女, there was a beautiful fairy in the heaven, jiào zuò Zhī nǚ. 叫做织女。 her name was Zhinü(the weaver girl). Yǒu yí cì tā tōu tōu xià fán， 有一次她偷偷下凡， Once she came down to the earth, hé yí ge jiào Niú láng de pǔ tōng rén xiāng’ài le。 和一个叫牛郎的普通人相爱了。 and fell in love with a common man named Niulang(the cowherd). Kě shì, 可是， But, zhī nǚ de mǔ qīn, 织女的母亲， Zhinü’ mother, Wáng mǔ niáng niang bú ràng tā men zài yì qǐ. 王母娘娘不让他们在一起。 Queen Mother of the West didn’t allow them to live together. Suī rán Zhī nǚ zài tiān shang, 虽然织女在天上， Although, Zhinü lived in the heaven Niú láng zài dì shang, 牛郎在地上， Niulang lived on the earth, dàn shì tā men yì zhí sī niàn zhe bǐ cǐ. 但是他们一直思念着彼此。 they ware always missing each other. Hòu lái, 后来， Afterwards, tā men de zhēn’ài gǎn dòng le xǐ què. 他们的真爱感动了喜鹊。 magpies were touched by their true love. měi nián nóng lì de qī yuè qī rì, 每年农历的七月七日， every year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, hěn duō hěn duō xǐ què huì yòng shēn tǐ dā yí zuò qiáo, 很多很多喜鹊会用身体搭一座桥， many magpies would build a bridge with their bodies, ràng Niú láng hé Zhī nǚ kě yǐ zài qiáo shang jiàn miàn. 让牛郎和织女可以在桥上见面。 so that Niulang and Zhinü could meet on the bridge. Yǐ qián, 以前， In the past, Qī xī jié de wǎn shang, 七夕节的晚上， on the night of Qixi festival, nǚ háir men dōu huì xǔ yuàn, 女孩儿们都会许愿， girls would make wishes, xī wàng néng xiàng Zhī nǚ yí yàng cōng ming, 希望能像织女一样聪明， they hope that they can be as smart as the weaver girl, yě xī wàng kě yǐ zǎo yì diǎnr yù dào zì jǐ ài de rén. 也希望可以早一点儿遇到自己爱的人。 and hope to meet their loved ones earlier.
