Doom 3 (Manual PC Port) - On Android (Xperia Z)
First off OMG I can't believe I am playing DOOM 3 on my phone!!!! Apparently some Russian dude got bored one day and decided to port Doom 3 to run on his phone or tablet. Second is OMG I cannot believe how good it runs, It's not perfect but hey Doom 3 is an beast of a game for its time, amazing truly amazing that's all I can say. The game is not available in the Play store! Instead you will have to install Doom 3 on your pc and transfer the pc data from it to your Android device and install an apk file manually. Here is the threat on XDA al about this (By: poo-tang) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970071 Here is a quick How To: 1. Install Doom 3 on your pc and update it to v 1.3.1 2. Create a new folder called "diii4a" 3. Go over to the installed Doom 3 folder and copy the folder called "base" over in to the "diii4a" folder. 4. Download the "DOOM3 (DIII4A-RC2).zip" from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970071 Extract it and you will have a folder called "gl2progs" and a apk file called "DIII4A-(RC2).apk" 5. Copy the whole folder "gl2progs" in to the (in step 3 copied) ''base" folder 6. Copy the "DIII4A-(RC2).apk" and the "diii4a" folder (in total it's about 1.45 gb) over to the root of your sd card 7. Install the "DIII4A-(RC2).apk" file and start dooming!!! ================================================================== HOW TO EDIT THE GRAPHICS (after this it will run a bit faster, and still look awesome) Go to the diii4a/base folder and edit the autoexec.cfg file. Copy the autoexec.cfg file to pc, add .txt at the end of it so it looks like this autoexec.cfg.txt , open it and edit these: image_useCompression 2 (from 1 to 2) image_lodbias 1 (from 0 to 1) r_useCachedDynamicModels 0 (form 1 to 0) r_skipParticles 0 (from 1 to 0) r_skipSpecular 1 (from 0 to 1) r_shadows 0 (from 1 to 0) Save it, remove the .txt at the end and copy it back to diii4/base on your android device, play the game faster but still looking great!
