AJPW All Japan Wrestling Theme (April 1998 - 2003) "STRIKER" aka "Fireballs" by Eizo Sakamoto [Rare
I noticed that no one's uploaded this with an English language title, so I might as well be the first. AJPW began using the song in April 1998, during a wrestling boom that kicked-off in 1993 and started fizzling-out in 2003. STRIKER is basically what Japan had in place of "Thorn In Your Eye", and this time period you can call the "Japanese Attitude Era". Besides the 80s era, this era is very fondly remembered by Japanese casual fans, and I've known a lot of them who miss these time periods. Here is the full music video I found STRIKER from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig7ubYzewco I've uploaded tons of shows from AJPW if you haven't seen them already: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMa8aqFhxPz3fAeXy_uxxqW98NqQdlsd_ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMa8aqFhxPz0TvexcxQEK5lWQzD5-Cw6E AJPW and NJPW ratings IICR ranged between 15 million to 20m viewers. Considering population size and ratio, this is similar too the combined 20m to 30m viewers that wrestling did in America at the time. As a note, you get those numbers after properly calculating the Nielsen ratings (5.0, 6.0, 7.0 etc.), which you do by taking the population of a country that year and dividing it into the particular rating. The Nielsen value is basically the percentage of people in a country who watched the show. I got a little Steiner math for you with a good example, hehe 😁: The population of the USA was 279.3 million in 1999, and if the January 4th, 1999 episode of Raw got a 5.76 Nielsen rating, that means it had 16.08 million total viewers. That same night, Nitro got a 4.96 Nielsen rating, meaning Nitro had 13.29 million total viewers.
