I had bought a netgear extender before only to return it because I wasn't looking for 'another' wifi network to connect to when I went into a different room of the house. After a little bit of research, I came across this mesh device. It looked to be just what we needed to get a stronger signal on the 2nd floor room which is on the opposite side of the house as the router (3000 sq ft house fyi). I wasn't looking to spend over $100 at the time so I threw it in my wish list. When I saw it listed for $75 on cyber Monday I couldn't pass it up. Setup is easy. Plug it in, wait, connect to router with WPS, wait. Then plug it in between where you want the stronger signal and your router. It even will tell you if you need to get closer to your router. One thing that tripped me up a bit was in the instructions it talks about connecting to your router twice if you have a 5Ghz wifi. What I realized is that the first time it connects to your 5Ghz, the 2nd time it connects to your 2.5Ghz. After a factory reset and just pairing it once, I was connected to the 5Ghz network. I put this on the inside wall of the room that had barely any reception even from the 2.5Ghz network. The light was green so I knew it was a strong enough signal. Sure enough, blazing fast speed, as if I was right next to the router itself. We'll see if it stands the test of time, but I'm thrilled with this. We have a TV in this room that was barely used because we stream and now we can take full advantage of it. Plus, it arrived the day after I ordered it, gotta love that.
