The Merry Oddfellows at Johnsonville SCD Club tartan night, April 2014
The jig 'The Merry Oddfellows' was the first dance after supper at Johnsonville SCD Club's first tartan night for 2014. Our club currently has 16 new paid-up members who started dancing only this year. We have the same number who started last year too - there are currently more of them than 'experienced' dancers in our club. For the evening we were joined by dancers from other Wellington clubs, and we put up the colourful bunting that last year's new dancers made for us. The MC was club tutor Rod Downey, and the band comprised Peter Elmes, John Smith, Lynne Scott and Aileen Logie. It was the first time that many of our new members had danced to live music.
