Introduction Planning Trip planning forms one of the most important parts of our day. In these videos we will refer back to the lessons on weather, tides, maps and charts and pull it all together to plan safe, interesting and enjoyable journeys. Learning One of the main tasks with trip planning is to try and predict what the conditions will look like on the water. We need to match the predicted conditions with the aims and abilities of our group of paddlers. We will need to take some time to collect the following information - Information about the group. Wind forecast - speed and direction, does it change throughout the day. Sea State - is there any swell? Tidal Plan - Timings, speeds and directions of any streams. Over time we will gain more experience and understanding and it will become easier to predict and interpret sea conditions.
