French Empire National Anthem (1852-1870; Instrumental) Partant pour la Syrie

The Second French Empire, officially the French Empire (French: Empire Français), was the Imperial Bonapartist regime of Napoleon III from 1852 to 1870, between the Second Republic and the Third Republic, in France. "Partant pour la Syrie" (English: Going to Syria) is a French patriotic song, the music of which was written by Hortense de Beauharnais and the lyrics by Alexandre de Laborde in or about 1807. Partant pour la Syrie was the unofficial national anthem during the Second Empire, during which La Marseillaise was regarded with suspicion.
