MPK MINI MK2 TUTORIAL: Keys and Pads Play Separate Instruments
Due to a high number of requests, here is a video tutorial on how I got the pads and keys on the Akai MPK Mini MK2 to play separate instruments (i.e. FPC and Harmor) Video where I do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ4mWmIUyRs 1. Download the MPK Mini MK2 Editor: http://www.akaipro.com/product/mpk-mini-mkii#downloads 2. Hook up your controller and open the editor program. 3. Get a Program and select your MPK Mini MK2 to communicate with the editor. 4. Set the Pad MIDI channel and Keybed/Controls MIDI channel to different numbers (2 and 1 for example) 5. Map the pads to work with your FPC. GREEN: E2 D2 A#2 G#2 C#2 C2 F#2 F#3 RED: C#3 G3 D#3 F3 C3 B2 A2 G2 6. Send to one of the programs. 7. Open FL Studio, Options, MIDI settings. 8. Enable MPKmini2, select ports, send master sync 9. Hold PROG SELECT on your controller and press the corresponding pad for the program number where you mapped everything. 10. Drop instruments into channel rack (top to bottom is MIDI channel order 1,2,3...) 11. Select all instruments and play them separately. 12. Get that G-$$$!!
