Island 167 - Vikings - Daddy

The Vikings was one name (The Flames was another) under which Toots and The Maytals' records appeared during the group's very early years. Following Toots Hibbert's release from a year long stretch in jail in 1967, the group brought out a slew of reggae classics including 'Monkey Man', '54-46' (said to be Hibbert's convict number) and the magnificent 'Pressure Drop'. 'Daddy', a raw, possibly Heartbeats inspired ballad, was issued in 1964.
