Martinique (/ˌmɑːrtɪˈniːk/ ; Martinican Creole: Matinik or Matnik; Kalinago: Madinina or Madiana) is an island and an Overseas department of France, and therefore an integral part of the French Republic, located in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea.
