Flying High In Omsk
Well, I gave another interview to a local Omsk news organization. I guess I rather enjoy a little attention sometimes, but last time they interviewed me, they got more than half the facts wrong and snapped pictures of me when I was lifting my hand to look like a German salute in World War II.It makes me wonder why I do it to myself. And the comments that people post. Usually satiracle and sprinkled with bad language. I realize that when Russians ask you questions, they already know the answers.And then, as everyone knows with their own life, there is a story that is true that masks another story that is true but can't be talked about. How does one shake it all together? Well, you can't, I suppose, and result is that one looks like a braying idiot.In general, moving to Russia is very difficult. It simply isn't done as the application process is possible, but hardly ever granted. The only few that made it as I remember were in Novosibirsk and the daughter of the family got on her knees on a video to ask mercy of the president. The family was also featured locally and even appeared at the enormous Opera and Ballet Theatre in Novosibirsk. But obviously, a lot of us don't have that star talent and are left to our own devices.Well, and so I am here and in Omsk, and I've come to get attached a bit to the city. I know many parts of it backwards and forwards. I'm glad to be here and glad to be a Russian citizen, and if the Russians agreed with me, that would be nice!
