Hogwarts Legacy Release day is here, beef-elf now is working
Harry Potter fans will have something new to enjoy on the Hogwarts Legacy release date, with many followers of the franchise having already pre-ordered their copy from retailers.
That being said, the Hogwarts Legacy release date is not as simple as you might expect. Instead of launching on all the major platforms at once, the release of this new Harry Potter game will be staggered throughout the year.
Gamers on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will get to play Hogwarts Legacy first, followed in a couple of months by PS4 and Xbox One players, and Nintendo Switch purists will have to wait until the summer before they can start playing.

For the test I chose probably one of the more challenging locations, a village near Hogwarts. Hogsmeade is full of NPCs and lots of houses to break RT on. So please take into mind that I am showing one of the most GPU/CPU intensive locations.
During testing I discovered a 'BUG' maybe in the drivers maybe in the game itself. The RTX 4070 Ti, with full Ray Tracing enabled in 4K, has strange FPS dips that are associated with extremely low GPU power consumption. The load indicator is 95+% but the GPU consumption fluctuates to below 150W, which is well below the maximum. I have run the test repeatedly. I assume this is a bug that will be fixed in future updates, but this is how I tested it and I'm not going to keep it a secret :). It's also possible that it's a bug only in my HW combination. As soon as a fix or tweak for this issue comes in, I'll do a new test on just the RTX 4070 Ti. Hogwarts Legacy especially in Hogsmeade and when using Ray Tracing on the Ultra setting is a very challenging game.

I thoroughly tested the differences between the nVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti from the 4000 series versus the original RTX 3080. In my tests, I focused on the raw performance of the graphics cards. I used DLSS but did not use Frame Generation. I will compare this technology in other tests. Note that to get the maximum performance you need to use DLSS 3.0, which will be increasingly used in the future. I would also like to point out that due to the larger number of Tensor cores directly predisposed to use these technologies, but still a lot of gamers want to see raw performance. For clarification, I can add that the nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 has a performance of 29.77 TFLOPS and the nVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti has a performance of 40.09 TFLOPS in FP32 (floating point).
In some 4K tests, the RTX 3080 suffers from low VRAM, for example in Far Cry 6 with Ray Tracing enabled, all performance is devastated by VRAM overflow.
